About Us

Hi! 👋 I’m Amanda - wife, proud girl mom to three young daughters, nurse, and the host behind Away at A’s Coastal Cottage. My husband, Robbie, and I run our short-term rental business together, combining our love for hospitality, family, and the beautiful 30A coast to create warm, family-friendly stays for vacations, coastal wedding celebrations, and for anyone wanting meaningful coastal memories.

The name Away at A’s is especially meaningful to us because all three of our daughters’ names begin with the letter “A.” What started as a fun family theme quickly became the heart behind our brand - a place centered around connection, comfort, and creating meaningful memories together.

Our love for the Gulf Coast began long before this business ever existed. In 2013, Robbie and I were married on the beautiful beach of Henderson Beach State Park, and ever since then, this area has held such a special place in our hearts. Some of our sweetest memories began here as newlyweds, and now we get to watch our girls run barefoot through the same white sand beaches that became part of our own love story.

As our family grew, so did our appreciation for vacations that allow families to truly slow down, reconnect, and enjoy quality time together. That love ultimately inspired Away at A’s Coastal Cottage. We wanted to create more than just a place to stay - we wanted to create homes where other families could experience the same joy, peace, and togetherness that this area has given ours over the years.

While I still have a passion for nursing and caring for others, I’m currently home full-time with our girls after battling - and beating - breast cancer. That season of life gave me an even deeper appreciation for family, intentional living, and creating spaces that feel peaceful, welcoming, and restorative.

These days, I spend my time raising our daughters, staying actively involved in their education and activities, and working part-time as an infant room teacher at the same faith-based preschool where my littles attend school. Caring for little ones during such important stages of life has been incredibly rewarding and has naturally shaped the way we host families in our homes. I understand firsthand how meaningful thoughtful details can be when traveling with children, and we strive to create spaces that feel comfortable, functional, and stress-free for guests of all ages.

While I’m often the face behind guest communication and design, this business is truly a family effort. Robbie works tirelessly behind the scenes helping manage and maintain our homes, problem-solve, support operations, and help bring the vision of Away at A’s Coastal Cottage to life. Together, we’ve poured so much love, intention, and heart into creating spaces where families can gather, reconnect, and make lifelong memories.

Because we’re a family-owned business rather than a large management company, hosting feels incredibly personal to us. We’re deeply involved in every detail of our home and truly care about creating a welcoming experience where guests feel cared for from booking to checkout.
